The Marlin App for Platysens Marlin - The GPS Meter Designed To Talk to You

Platysens Marlin is a Swim Meter designed to tell you your swim performance through voice feedback using a bone conduction headset. Your pace is reported to you as you swim with no disruption to your swim stroke. In open water swims, your swim performance is captured with GPS. In the pool, motion sensors are used when there is no GPS reception. After your swim, you can connect Marlin to your phone with Bluetooth to review your data and update configurations. You can now use Marlin App as a guest user. Log in to cloud account is optional.

Same as Matt Chalk, yesterday (Oct, 6th 2020), I was on the beach ready to use my marlin gps. It was working fine before updating, I mean it could be switched on and off, and be ready for open water, but I did the mistake to update my device, suddenly after about 7% of updating, it was written ERROR, and my device didn't even switch on. Luckily, I sent a report to Marlin support and they sent me a file repair. Now it's working fine with the updated apk. Thanks Marlin for answering so quick to my issue. So don't hesitate to write to Marlin support, they will help you.

Awful Crashes all the time, unable to sync and now can't update firmware on my device. . Updated since the new update things have improved vastly. . Tried updating to new firmware crashed after 7% and now my device will not work at all. Not happy as was working fine before new firmware update.

I previously moaned about the app not opening. Problem solved now, app is great

Absolute rubbish. The data sync is so unreliable I've stopped using it. It's so frustrating- the idea of the device is great, but it just very rarely actually works (despite a lot of patience)

Still crashing during sync... Fix it properly people!

Horrid. An embarrassment to the profession (I am myself an Android developer) and a black eye to the brand. Crashes right and left. Terrible UX. Because the device is not very useful without the app, the device is essentially useless to me. I'll be sticking my old Garmin watch under the cap for my swims. I would recommend against purchasing the Marlin product if you're an Android user. Updated to 3 stars. I stand by much of my earlier comments, but the app has improved enough that it is possible to use the device from an Android phone. Support did respond to a submitted crash report with an app update and now I can finally update firmware.

Have problems frequently using Marlin Android App, mainly with its Bluetooth and inability to reliably connect to device. Needs more development scrutiny by Platysens to insure capabilities work consistently for all users. Also a way to manually reinstall firmware in case code corruption is occurring inside the device.

I've used the Marlin device for about 2 months now for pool swims. There are a few bugs, but it mostly does what I want it to do. All tracking devices I've used for swimming have been equally accurate ish. The folks at Platysens just issued another firmware and software update. I'm looking forward to seeing what is fixed now.

Cannot update firmware using Android

Needs a lot of work, it crashed all the time in my S7. Data sync fails all the time. Firmware updates also fail frequently and I'm unable to see my workouts. At this time it looks like a very buggy development.
